The Harrison Family,
Nelson was a great friend and teacher, and I knew Sham through Jason Black many years ago. I always enjoyed talking to him and never saw him down and out. He was always happy and had a way of making you laugh. I hope in these days you all remember what a great person he is, and know that we are all mourning your loss. Godspeed.

I was very saddened to hear of Nellie's passing. I was Asst. Prin. at Hagerstown Jr. Sr. High School for only two years. One of the best memories I have of that job was being able to look back and say I got to know Nellie. He was a great educator and an awesome person who loved teaching and who loved his family even more. I did get to go on a couple of fishing trips with him and never stopped laughing and having a good time.
Nellie...I hope you're catching them up there.

We just called Mr. Harrison "Coach". I began wrestling for him in 7th grade (1967, I think). He taught me that even skinny kids had a place in wrestling. I was also blessed to have him as a coach in High School tennis. The one thing that I remember the most of all his coaching and advice, is his reminder to be humble. He would say, "If you are good, you don't have to tell anyone, they will figure it out themselves." I have passed that advice on to my own children and many others through the years. I will always be grateful for the time and care "Coach" spent on me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family that will miss him dearly.Thank you for sharing Mr. Harrison with the rest of us.With loving memories,Steve Newton
Mr. Harrison was one of my favorite teachers. He taught me how to drive--and we had a lot of laughs in the process. I'll never forget him buying cookies for me and my driving partners and then making us drive while eating them. He said, "You're gonna eat while ya drive anyway, ya may as well learn how to do it the right way." He also loved to make fun of my "need for speed." His nicknames for me were "lead foot" and "crash." :) What a great, fun-loving guy.

Rodney & I were very sad to hear about the loss of Coach Harrison. He was a great family man, teacher and coach. He was someone that we always hoped to see when we would come home for a visit. Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

To the family - God blessed you with this wonderful man for all of these years. Keep all of the memories close, cherish the time you had with him, and enjoy life as he enjoyed life. That is what he would want.
My love and prayers are with each of the family members for the loss of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
This community has lost an amazing man, and an amazing friend.
My heart is sad. We have all lost a great guy. Gary and I were lucky to have Nellie as a teacher 40 some years ago. He was the best.
